>Cluster Service Relocation

By | July 17, 2013

Cluster service relocation takes place automatically when the node running that service goes down.  But sometimes we may need to relocate cluster service from one cluster node to other. For relocating the cluster service we need following information
  • ·         Cluster service name which need to relocated and
  • ·         Node name on which service need to be relocated

Suppose you have a requirement to relocate cluster service IP to node2. So here cluster service name will be “IP” and node name will be “node2”. To initiate relocation you can use following command

#clusvcadm –r IP –m node2

Also ensure that rgmanager service should be in running state while you perform relocation task

Note: This example is based on CentOS6
